Jayne advises on an extensive array of charity matters, including the formation of new charitable organisations, charity governance, the interpretation and revision of constitutions, Gift Aid issues, Big Lottery Fund grants, mergers, Charity Commission investigations, administrative and regulatory requirements and legacies. Jayne has also assisted many charities with Charity Commission schemes and has resolved numerous difficulties arising from charity objects clauses and charities' activities. Jayne's services are often called upon to unravel complex trust provisions affecting charities, including those relating to permanent endowment and specie property.
Jayne has a particular interest in cross-border charities and advises UK charities on the impact of cross-border legislation, notably Scottish charity legislation.
Jayne's experience also includes advising on the resolution of contentious, or potentially contentious, matters arising out of trusts, probates and situations affecting charities and private individuals.
Jayne contributes to sector publications and is a member of the Charity Law Association and an associate member of the Society of Writers to the Signet.
