Isobel rejoined Bircham Dyson Bell in October 2008 as a Senior Associate having previously worked at the firm from 1992 to 1998. In the intervening period, she was an Associate at a Sussex law firm specialising in Family law, and she also taught for five years in a leading Sussex Preparatory School.
She is experienced in all areas of family law, including all aspects of ancillary relief and the Court of Protection. She has a particular interest in disputes involving children, including complex (and often intractable) disputes over residence and contact, the threat of child abduction, and specific issue order applications, for example where there is a dispute over a child's education. She has also acted in private law cases involving serious domestic violence.
Isobel takes a practical approach towards resolution of cases. She believes that wherever possible, costly legal proceedings should be avoided to conserve family money and preserve relationships.
